State Releases October 2009 General Revenue Report

State Budget Director Linda Luebbering announced today that 2010 fiscal year-to-date net general revenue collections declined 10.8 percent compared to fiscal year 2009, from $2.41 billion last year to $2.15 billion this year.
Net general revenue collections for October 2009 decreased by 14.0 percent compared to those for October 2008, from $514.8 million to $442.7 million.
GROSS COLLECTIONS BY TAX TYPE
Individual income tax collections
- Decreased 8.3 percent for the year, from $1.68 billion last year to $1.54 billion this year.
- Decreased 8.6 percent for the month.
Sales and use tax collections
- Decreased 10.8 percent for the year, from $645.1 million last year to $575.1 million this year.
- Decreased 24.4 percent for the month.
Corporate income and corporate franchise tax collections
- Decreased 12.3 percent for the year, from $151.8 million last year to $133.1 million this year.
- Decreased 26.2 percent for the month.
All other collections
- Decreased 8.3 percent for the year, from $135.5 million last year to $124.3 million this year.
- Increased 2.0 percent for the month.
Refunds
- Increased 10.9 percent for the year, from $202.4 million last year to $224.6 million this year.
- Decreased 5.9 percent for the month.
