State Releases February 2016 General Revenue Report

JEFFERSON CITY - Acting State Budget Director Dan Haug announced today that 2016 fiscal year-to-date net general revenue collections increased 3.0 percent compared to 2015, from $5.29 billion last year to $5.45 billion this year.

Net general revenue collections for February 2016 decreased by 0.5 percent compared to those for February 2015, from $486.6 million to $484.3 million. 

GROSS COLLECTIONS BY TAX TYPE

Individual income tax collections
Increased 5.7 percent for the year, from $4.05 billion last year to $4.28 billion this year.
Increased 0.8 percent for the month.

Sales and use tax collections
Increased 3.2 percent for the year, from $1.35 billion last year to $1.40 billion this year.
Increased 6.6 percent for the month.

Corporate income and corporate franchise tax collections
Decreased 8.2 percent for the year, from $298.0 million last year to $273.7 million this year.
Decreased 81.1 percent for the month. 

All other collections
Increased 3.3 percent for the year, from $210.9 million last year to $217.9 million this year.
Decreased 6.2 percent for the month.

Refunds
Increased 15.6 percent for the year, from $624.1 million last year to $721.3 million this year.
Increased 3.1 percent for the month.

Acting Director Haug also noted the General Revenue Fund borrowed $100 million from the Budget Reserve Fund for cash flow purposes. The funds will be repaid before the Constitutional deadline of May 15, 2016.
