State Releases May 2015 General Revenue Report

JEFFERSON CITY - State Budget Director Linda Luebbering announced today that 2015 fiscal year-to-date net general revenue collections increased 7.5 percent compared to 2014, from $7.32 billion last year to $7.87 billion this year.

Net general revenue collections for May 2015 increased by 5.7 percent compared to those for May 2014, from $614.4 million to $649.6 million. 

GROSS COLLECTIONS BY TAX TYPE

Individual income tax collections
Increased 8.8 percent for the year, from $5.78 billion last year to $6.29 billion this year.
Increased 12.1 percent for the month. 

Sales and use tax collections
Increased 2.9 percent for the year, from $1.77 billion last year to $1.83 billion this year.
Increased 8.3 percent for the month.

Corporate income and corporate franchise tax collections
Increased 3.5 percent for the year, from $449.7 million last year to $465.4 million this year.
Increased 44.1 percent for the month. 

All other collections
Decreased 0.4 percent for the year, from $381.0 million last year to $379.5 million this year.
Decreased 38.3 percent for the month.

Refunds
Increased 2.5 percent for the year, from $1.07 billion last year to $1.10 billion this year.
Increased 18.0 percent for the month.
