State Releases September 2015 General Revenue Report

JEFFERSON CITY - Acting State Budget Director Dan Haug announced today that 2016 fiscal year-to-date net general revenue collections increased 3.6 percent compared to 2015, from $2.03 billion last year to $2.10 billion this year.

Net general revenue collections for September 2015 increased by 1.6 percent compared to those for September 2014, from $828.5 million to $842.1 million.

Acting Director Haug also announced that Missouri will not be receiving a payment of approximately $50 million anticipated under the tobacco Master Settlement Agreement, based on last month’s ruling by the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District. 

GROSS COLLECTIONS BY TAX TYPE

Individual income tax collections
Increased 6.2 percent for the year, from $1.42 billion last year to $1.50 billion this year.
Increased 5.4 percent for the month.

Sales and use tax collections
Increased 2.2 percent for the year, from $512.8 million last year to $523.9 million this year.
Decreased 3.9 percent for the month.

Corporate income and corporate franchise tax collections
Decreased 3.6 percent for the year, from $131.0 million last year to $126.3 million this year.
Decreased 9.4 percent for the month. 

All other collections
Increased 2.1 percent for the year, from $90.2 million last year to $92.1 million this year.
Increased 12.3 percent for the month.

Refunds
Increased 17.8 percent for the year, from $124.8 million last year to $147.1 million this year.
Increased 10.9 percent for the month.
