Project Management Overview
This section is an overview and description of the Office of Information Technology Best Practices for project management.
Project Initiating
This phase of the Project Management Methodology establishes the conceptual view and general definition of a project or a group of projects, often referred to as a program.
Planning
This section provides an overview of planning and focuses on the project plan elements.
Start-Up
The project start-up is a significant event in the life of a project. The project team must be formed, resources must be brought together, and the plan must be finalized.
Execution
Once a project reaches the execution phase, a project team and the necessary resources should be in place to perform the project tasks. The project plan should be developed and baselined.
Close-Out
The last major phase of a project's life cycle is the close-out. Closing a project should be a fairly routine process.
