In 1995, the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division, established a videoconferencing site in Jefferson City. This site was developed for use by all State of Missouri government agencies in an effort to reduce travel expenses and increase productivity time.
As demand for the new service grew, so did requests for additional locations. Several higher education institutions around the state provided videoconferencing to their own entities. Agreements were reached between the universities and the Office of Administration to share videoconference equipment and facilities for a set charge.
