This position with OA/FMDC performs preventative maintenance and monitoring activities on equipment such as air handlers, refrigeration and air conditioning units, high and low pressure steam systems, heating, ventilation, and (HVAC) systems. Records meter and gauge readings, cleans coils, and oils motors, replaces belts, filters, switches, gauges and motors. Assists skilled carpenters, plumbers, electricians, electronics technicians, or other high-level maintenance staff in performing more complex maintenance repair, and construction activities. Paints buildings and equipment, patch plaster walls, and repairs or replaces tiles and other wall coverings. Repairs and constructs wood and metal equipment, furniture, doors, windows, shelves, floors, security screens and other fixtures, and assembles modular furniture. Opens stopped sewage and drain lines. Replaces or repairs faucets, toilets, sinks, valves, water lines, and other plumbing equipment and fixtures. Repairs and replaces electrical outlets, light fixtures, switches and other controls, repairs electrical motors, generators and communication equipment; performs more complex electrical work (such as working with high voltage electrical systems) with appropriate training and education. Repairs, adjusts and calibrates a wide variety of machines and equipment such as sewing machines, window air conditioners, general office equipment, metal furniture and structures, electronic medical equipment, wheelchairs, automotive equipment, and kitchen appliances. Maintains an inventory and orders supplies, replacement parts, tools and equipment. Receives assignments in the form of work orders, which may be accompanied by sketches, penciled layouts, or blueprints. Receives general supervision from a Maintenance Supervisor or other designated supervisor. Performs other related work as assigned.
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
