Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

These internship positions are with OA/ITSD and will work in the areas of Application Development, Business Analysis, Cyber Security, Database Administration, Desktop Management, Email Administration, End User Support, Geographic Information Systems, Middleware Support, Project Management, Server Administration, Telecommunications, and Web Development &Design.

Interns take direction from mentors and management within the ITSD area and may work mostly independent in the execution of special assignments.

Major tasks to be performed:

Developer /Developer Analyst – Seeking both Intermediate to Senior level to assist in support and maintenance activities in primarily.NET, C, C#, Visual Basic and JAVA languages, and resolve backlog of bug fixes. Additionally, senior level developer interns with significant coding experience through coursework or a developer internship, as well as cyber security knowledge is needed to participate on priority projects to be completed this summer.

Graphics Designer – Specializing in Web Graphics, interns will participate in one or more of the following duties: Develop and maintain graphics for web based sites and applications. Work with agency staff to develop wire frames and mocks for new and redesigned sites. Maintain a library of graphic assets including photography, fonts, and logos. Work on special projects as required for consolidated agencies including the Governor's office. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Mobile Responsive Design and modern computer graphics required. Other specific skills preferred are Web Design, Bootstrap CSS, CSS Styling, Graphics for Modern Technology, Adobe Creative Cloud including, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Bridge.

Business Analysts - Assist in issue management, testing activities and backlog of documentation updates.

Business Management - Assist team management in special projects and other leadership endeavors.

Geographic Information Systems, Middleware Support, Server Administration, and Telecommunications interns assist technical teams in the execution of tasks related to these technology areas.

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. Approx 20 hours per week, mid-May through mid-August.

Salary is $10.50 per hour.

Knowledge gained through coursework applicable to and/or supporting the technical areas identified.


Important Information

Successful completion of 6 credit hours in Computer Science/Information Technology/Business, supporting the technical areas listed above is preferred.
