Definition

This is trainee-level work in the operation of computers and related equipment.

Job Duties

Receives formal and on-the-job training to gain knowledge and skills related to operating a variety of computer and peripheral equipment.

Operates printing equipment and monitors print operations; cleans, lubricates, adjusts, and performs routine maintenance on equipment.

Reads and studies equipment, program, and operations manuals to ascertain procedures and requirements of assigned tasks.

Monitors systems, jobs processing, networks, and hardware; responds to alerts as needed.

Enters commands into computer console.

Receives close supervision and detailed instructions from a designated technical staff member or supervisor who reviews work for adherence to instructions and established quality standards.

Performs other related work as assigned.
