This is entry-level manual and clerical work receiving, handling, recording, storing, selling, and shipping stores items such as office supplies, foodstuffs, medical supplies, clothing, linens, or other related items.
Performs retail sales transactions in a facility canteen or gift shop.
Receives, unpacks, and stores goods or supplies.
Issues supplies from a storeroom on approved requisitions for facility or agency use.
Assembles, packs, and transports or arranges for transporting goods and/or materials.
Operates specialized equipment such as forklifts and motorized or hydraulic jacks.
Participates in maintaining inventory of physical stock.
Maintains simple receiving, requisition, and sales records.
Exercises independence in the performance of duties under general supervision.
Performs other related work as assigned.
(The following requirements will determine merit system eligibility, experience and education ratings, and may be used to evaluate applicants for Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System positions not requiring selection from merit registers. When practical and possible, the Division of Personnel will accept substitution of experience and education on a year-for-year basis.)
Possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
(One year of work experience may substitute for the first two years of required high school education; and one year of clerical, recordkeeping, or storekeeping experience may substitute for the last two years of required high school education.)

Introductory knowledge of storeroom methods and procedures.
Introductory knowledge of the various kinds and grades of foodstuffs; housekeeping, medical, and office supplies; clothing; maintenance equipment; and other supplies and equipment.
Introductory knowledge of transportation providers and shipment methods.
Ability to properly pack a variety of goods for shipment.
Ability to understand and follow basic directions.
Ability to maintain inventory and stores records.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Ability to use forklifts, motorized or hydraulic jacks, and/or related equipment.
