Careers

A career path is different than a job. While a job may meet basic financial support, a career path is a progressive journey to satisfy more long-term goals such as financial stability, professional development, or personal achievement. Career paths are a series of jobs designed to help individuals meet these goals, while also providing the organization with a value-added contribution from a team member.

Career paths can be vertical growth or advancement to higher levels, but can also entail lateral (sideways) movement within a job level or between job families. Career paths may be different for each team member based upon their career aspirations and plans. Whichever path is taken, it’s designed to provide increased job enrichment and satisfaction.
