October 29, 2026

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Nearly one million Missourians live with a disability, contributing to the state’s dynamic workplaces, vibrant communities and civic life. To recognize individuals and organizations that are removing barriers, the Missouri Governor’s Council on Disability is accepting nominations for the 2026 Inclusion Award and the 2026 Youth Leadership Award.

The 35th annual Inclusion Award honors public and private employers, organizations, businesses and community advocates that demonstrate proactive leadership in advancing access for Missourians with disabilities. Nominees should demonstrate measurable efforts in workplace integration, accessible services and barrier‑free community initiatives. Nominations may be submitted through the online form.

The 14th annual Youth Leadership Award recognizes an outstanding Missourian with a disability between the ages of 16 and 26 who demonstrates exemplary leadership, advocacy and service. The award honors someone who improves quality of life and creates lasting opportunities for peers and fellow Missourians. Nominators should highlight self‑advocacy, volunteer work and accomplishments in school or community settings using the online form.

Nominations for both awards must be submitted by Jan. 31, 2027. Submissions may come from colleagues, educators, community partners, family members or individuals nominating themselves.
