State Agencies Launch ‘Show Me Your Age’ Verification Tool to Combat Underage Sales

October 14, 2026

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The Missouri Office of Administration’s Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD), in partnership with three state agencies, announced today the launch of the Show Me Your Age application, a streamlined digital tool designed to help businesses and regulatory bodies enforce legal age limits for regulated products.

The application, also known as the Age Verification Application, was developed in collaboration with the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the Missouri Department of Revenue, the tool enables retailers, venues and public entities to confirm a patron’s age by scanning a valid driver’s license or manually entering their date of birth.

The initiative aims to curb underage sales of alcohol, tobacco and cannabis across Missouri by supplementing identity checks at retail and distribution points. When a barcode scan flags irregularities indicating an invalid or potentially fraudulent license, the system generates a caution flag. This alert prompts personnel to conduct a manual physical inspection of the identification card before proceeding.

The application also features integrated reporting functionality to measure trends and program performance. Administrators can track key operational data, including total scans, daily and monthly volume, successful verifications, expired identification scans, caution alerts and scan failures.

Businesses and the public can learn more or access the tool at  https://sa.dor.mo.gov/showmeyourage/.
