State Releases April 2013 General Revenue Report

JEFFERSON CITY, MO - -State Budget Director Linda Luebbering announced today that 2013 fiscal year-to-date net general revenue collections increased 11.2 percent compared to 2012, from $5.99 billion last year to $6.67 billion this year. 

 

Net general revenue collections for April 2013 increased by 27.4 percent compared to those for April 2012, from $933.4 million to $1.19 billion.

 

 

GROSS COLLECTIONS BY TAX TYPE

 

Individual income tax collections

  • Increased 9.8 percent for the year, from $4.87 billion last year to $5.35 billion this year.
  • Increased 30.7 percent for the month.

 

Sales and use tax collections

  • Increased 2.0 percent for the year from $1.52 billion last year to $1.55 billion this year.
  • Increased 15.4 percent for the month.

 

Corporate income and corporate franchise tax collections

  • Increased 2.5 percent for the year, from $394.9 million last year to $404.8 million this year.
  • Decreased 3.3 percent for the month.

 

All other collections

  • Increased 24.6 percent for the year, from $298.3 million last year to $371.6 million this year.
  • Increased 13.9 percent for the month.

 

Refunds

  • Decreased 7.4 percent for the year, from $1.10 billion last year to $1.01 billion this year.
  • Increased 17.2 percent for the month.

 

Director Luebbering also noted the General Revenue Fund repaid the $375 million borrowed from the Budget Reserve Fund during fiscal year 2013, ahead of the Constitutional deadline of
May 15th.
