Governor’s Council on Disability Looks to Honor for Excellence in Leadership
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Governor’s Council on Disability is currently accepting nominations for the 22nd Annual Inclusion Award. The deadline for submitting nominations is Dec. 2, 2013.
Each year, the Inclusion Award is presented annually to recognize and honor a Missouri resident, organization, business or state/local government division that illustrates excellence in leadership for the best inclusion practices. Innovative universal design and assistive technology concepts that incorporate people with disabilities also may be submitted.
The nomination form, required criteria and past recipients of the Inclusion Award are available online at http://disability.mo.gov/gcd/inclwin.htm. Past recipients of the award include the 2012 recipient Jaime Janes, a special education teacher at Kirksville RIII School District, who works with students with disabilities to experience employment, become self advocates and pursue training after high school graduation.
