This is office support work which follows established procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following eligibility requirements:

Possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.

Job Duties

This description may not include all of the duties, knowledge, skills, or abilities associated with this classification.

Sorts and files correspondence and documents alphabetically, numerically, or by other established method; removes and returns requested material from files; prepares file folders by subject, name, or other headings.

Types forms, letters, reports, and other materials from rough draft; proofreads completed work.

Prepares records for storage and/or archiving.

Performs basic math calculations following specific instructions.

Performs routine coding and checking functions according to established procedures; assembles, verifies, and enters routine information into office records.

Receives, opens, logs, time-stamps, and distributes mail; prepares material for mailing.

Receives visitors and directs them to proper offices; answers routine questions.

Copies, sorts, collates, and assembles materials.

Answers telephone and relays calls or takes messages.

Operates standard office equipment.

Receives close supervision on more difficult tasks; however, normally works independently on the more routine aspects of the work after becoming familiar with procedures; receives detailed instructions at the beginning of new work assignments.

Performs other related work as assigned.
