This is supervisory work in directing shipping, distribution, and warehousing of vocational enterprises products and raw materials throughout the State of Missouri.
Applicants must meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
(The following minimum qualifications will determine merit system eligibility and may be used to evaluate applicants for Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System positions not requiring selection from merit registers.)
Two or more years of experience as a Storekeeper II with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
OR
Three or more years of experience as a Storekeeper I with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
OR
Three or more years of experience as a Tractor Trailer Driver with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System, including one or more years maintaining inventory records in a warehouse environment; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
OR
Four or more years of experience as a shipping clerk or manager, route person, salesperson/driver, or similar work with responsibility for the maintenance of inventory records and accountability for products delivered; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
Possession of a valid Missouri Class A commercial driver’s license at the time of appointment.

Directs and supervises shipping and distribution of vocational enterprises products and the transportation of raw materials to governmental agencies throughout the state.
Directs and supervises warehousing operations for vocational enterprises products and raw materials; oversees inventory management, space utilization, and stored finished goods.
Supervises, trains, and evaluates staff.
Supervises electronic maintenance of perpetual inventories and material records; ensures proper control and distribution of finished goods and raw materials; determines inventory levels; and establishes reorder points.
Schedules and maintains logs for pick-ups and delivery of products.
Schedules maintenance of vehicles and material handling equipment; dispatches vehicles and maintains records of vehicle usage.
Keeps administrative staff informed as to the condition of the fleet, advises when replacement of equipment is needed, and prepares specifications for recommended equipment.
Arranges shipments by commercial companies when it is not feasible to ship by Missouri Vocational Enterprises vehicles.
Supervises offenders loading and unloading trucks.
Establishes procedures and trains staff regarding quality control of warehouse products and transportation of products.
Coordinates transfers of furniture and other commodities requested by other state agencies.
Oversees warehousing of finished goods and/or raw materials to ensure products are being stored properly to reduce damage or loss.
Organizes, schedules, and calculates cost of moving furniture to other state agencies.
Receives general supervision from an administrative supervisor.
Performs other related work as assigned.
Comprehensive knowledge of transportation, shipping, distribution methods, and procedures.
Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to shipping and interstate truck operations.
Comprehensive knowledge of traffic laws for the State of Missouri.
Comprehensive knowledge of electronic inventory systems and warehousing procedures.
Intermediate knowledge of the operation and maintenance of tractor trailers and material handling equipment.
Intermediate knowledge of commercial transportation companies and shipping methods.
Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures relating to warehouse inventories, transportation, and distribution of products.
Ability to plan, assign, and supervise work of staff and offender workers.
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports relating to shipping, warehousing, and distribution operations.
Ability to interpret specifications in order to determine quality and quantity of goods.
Ability to coordinate transfers of furniture requested by other state agencies.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public.
