This is entry-level work in the Missouri Department of Revenue reviewing and processing a variety of motor vehicle titling, registration, drivers licensing, business tax, individual tax, tax return, and/or related documents, applications, and transactions.
Applicants must meet one of the following eligibility requirements:

These minimum qualifications may also be used to evaluate applicants for Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System positions not requiring selection from merit registers.)
Six or more months of experience in clerical or general office support work; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a month-for-month basis for the required experience at a rate of 3 earned credit hours for one month.)

Receives instruction in and maintains knowledge of policies, procedures, laws, rules, regulations, statutes, computer systems, and software applications in order to provide proper records, licenses, permits, identification cards, and tax returns in compliance with statutory requirements and state and federal regulations.
Prepares documents for processing and enters transaction data, applications, returns, payments, and permits into the appropriate computer system, ensuring all necessary information is correct and complete and all supporting documentation is attached.
Records charges, adjustments, and receipts to subsidiary accounts receivable ledgers; balances subsidiary ledgers to the controlling account; prepares certifications for collection of delinquent accounts; and prepares daily report on collections.
Records and distributes expenditures to cost centers according to a well defined allocation plan.
Maintains accounts and systems based on reports, requests, notices, correspondence, or other output generated from internal/external customers and departmental systems.
Reviews invoices for accuracy; researches and resolves account inquiries, corrections, or processing issues.
Collects and accurately processes payment of taxes and/or licensing fees; provides change for customers when necessary; validates and enters transaction information into computer system.
Posts payments to appropriate accounts; processes deposits and prepares revenue transmittals.
Issues appropriate licenses, exemptions, license plates, tabs, stickers, decals, permits, titles, refunds, credits, billings, assessments, and liens.
Generates and issues accurate and appropriate notices, adjustments, determinations, and letters.
Separates and batches applications, forms, and other documents to prepare for mailing, shipment, or further processing.
Prepares and submits production reports.
Provides assistance to customers in person, by telephone, and in response to e-mail inquiries or other correspondence.
Responds to routine inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
Maintains a current and accurate file system.
Maintains and utilizes office procedures, manuals, and equipment.
Performs work under detailed direction with close supervision; work is reviewed for conformance with established guidelines.
Performs other related work as assigned.
Introductory knowledge of the policies, procedures, and operations of the Department of Revenue.
Introductory knowledge of statutes and regulations applicable to the assigned area.
Introductory knowledge of computer systems utilized by the assigned area.
