Definition

This is supervisory and technical work in the Missouri Lottery Commission coordinating the operations of a unit responsible for the promotion of Missouri Lottery products to established retail account holders.

 

Job Duties

Supervises and coordinates a unit of Inside Sales Representatives responsible for promoting Lottery products to established retail account holders within an assigned territory.

Provides sales tools, analyzes team member sales trends and goals, communicates expectations, identifies training needs, and develops training exercises.

Monitors the quality of phone calls, evaluates performance, and reviews order proficiency.

Develops and implements sales promotions for assigned staff.

Evaluates work from staff in order to ensure efficiency of operations; identifies and evaluates operational best practices and interprets and develops procedures.

Coordinates daily assignment of retailers and territories to Inside Sales Representatives based on sales, account load, strengths and weaknesses, demographics, and staff shortages.

Plans and prepares staff for product introductions, team motivations, and departmental direction.

Analyzes game trends and recommends product changes and distribution adjustments in response to changing market trends.

Participates in sales management meetings and assists in developing long and short term plans.

Authorizes weekly courier payments; completes courier adjustment and refund requests.

Maintains communication with Inside and Field sales management to coordinate sales direction for Inside Sales Representative/Lottery Sales Representatives in each district.

Participates in the overall planning, development, management, and administration of the Inside Sales section in order to reach goals.

Exercises significant independence and initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities; receives general administrative direction.

Performs other related work as assigned

(The following requirements will determine merit system eligibility, experience and education ratings, and may be used to evaluate applicants for Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System positions not requiring selection from merit registers. When practical and possible, the Division of Personnel will accept substitution of experience and education on a year-for-year basis.)

Two or more years of experience as a Lottery Inside Sales Representative with the Missouri Lottery Commission; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.

OR

Five or more years of experience in commercial sales, persuasive sales, business management, marketing, or a closely related area; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.

(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university with specialization in marketing, business administration or a closely related area may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year.)
