JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Today, the Office of Administration announced that the Office of Equal Opportunity will begin leading an initiative along with the Workforce Diversity Council to review current policies, procedures, training and educational resources to ensure the state is promoting an inclusive work environment. The Workforce Diversity Council is comprised of representatives from each executive department.
“It is important that our executive branch departments work to develop and maintain an inclusive atmosphere and diverse workforce,” said Office of Administration Commissioner Sarah Steelman. “I am proud this administration is prioritizing diversity and inclusion.”
“This is a big step in the right direction to creating a well-rounded state government,” Office of Equal Opportunity Director Seth Bauman said. “I’m excited to see a renewed commitment to improving our state government.”
The Workforce Diversity Council, established in Executive Order 10-24, is charged with working to ensure that all employees of the State of Missouri are educated on issues involving diversity, and formulating policy and issues that affect workforce diversity in the executive branch of state government.
The Workforce Diversity Council will provide a summary report to Governor Greitens by Wednesday, November 29, 2017.
