JEFFERSON CITY – Office of Administration Commissioner Doug Nelson was elected as President of the National Association of Chief Administrators (NASCA) at the organization’s 2015 Institute on Management & Leadership last month. NASCA brings together state chief administrators and public officials from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories to develop creative and timely solutions to issues facing state governments.
“NASCA has provided a remarkable opportunity to connect with other government administrators around the country to discuss best practices in our effort to make state government more efficient and effective,” Office of Administration Commissioner Doug Nelson said. “I am honored to lead such an impressive group, and I look forward to helping Missouri continue its role as leader in operating a smarter, smaller government.”
Founded in 1976, NASCA is the leading organization for advancing professional development and management solutions for administrative functions of state government. They are committed to providing a forum for state chief administrators and those who partner with them to enable sharing of information regarding the diverse issues they work to solve every day. Focus remains on providing tools for effectiveness and efficiency in state government through education, information on state government trends, leading innovations and industry best practices.
