JEFFERSON CITY, MO – The Missouri Office of Administration today announced that this year’s Missouri State Employee Charitable Campaign (MSECC) exceeded donations of $950K, with more than $958,215.00 donated to 706 Missouri charities. During the past 35 years, state employees have donated more than $32 million to the annual campaign. During the event, Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe, First Lady Teresa Parson, and Commissioner Sarah Steelman presented checks to charities and spoke about the difference state employees are making throughout their communities.

“Charities share the same mission as our dedicated state employees – to make the lives of Missourians better,” said Office of Administration Commissioner Sarah Steelman. “Generous contributions from our State of Missouri teammates to charities not only make life better for those in need, but they also strengthen our communities for all of us.”

Other notable highlights from this year’s campaign:

The Missouri Department of Transportation and Department of Corrections both exceeded $120K in pledges.

The Lieutenant Governor, State Auditor, and Department of Commerce & Insurance employees had their highest pledge numbers in more than 15 years.

The MSECC is an annual fundraising effort organized by the Office of Administration that provides state employees and retirees with the opportunity to make donations to their favorite charitable organizations through the convenience of payroll deduction or one-time gifts. The State of Missouri has a history of philanthropy and a spirit of service. Since the inception of the annual campaign, state employees have donated more than $32 million to charities statewide. Donations have exceeded $1 million in 18 of the 35 years.
