JEFFERSON CITY, MO - State Budget Director Linda Luebbering announced today that 2012 fiscal year-to-date net general revenue collections increased 2.4 percent compared to 2011, from $4.44 billion last year to $4.55 billion this year.
Net general revenue collections for February 2012 increased by 15.1 percent compared to those for February 2011, from $345.8 million to $398.2 million.
Director Luebbering also noted the General Revenue Fund borrowed $150 million from the Budget Reserve Fund for cash flow purposes, bringing the total borrowed for the year to $225 million. The funds will be repaid before the Constitutional deadline of May 15th.
GROSS COLLECTIONS BY TAX TYPE
Individual income tax collections
- Increased 3.5 percent for the year, from $3.40 billion last year to $3.52 billion this year.
- Increased 9.8 percent for the month.
Sales and use tax collections
- Increased 4.4 percent for the year from $1.20 billion last year to $1.25 billion this year.
- Increased 18.7 percent for the month.
Corporate income and corporate franchise tax collections
- Decreased 11.9 percent for the year, from $276.9 million last year to $244.0 million this year.
- Decreased 34.4 percent for the month.
All other collections
- Decreased 22.2 percent for the year, from $269.8 million last year to $210.0 million this year.
- Decreased 13.1 percent for the month.
Refunds
- Decreased 3.9 percent for the year, from $704.2 million last year to $676.4 million this year.
- Increased 3.8 percent for the month.
