This is entry-level technical work in an information technology environment.
Receives formal and/or on-the-job training in assigned information technology areas; receives detailed directions and guidance.
Observes to gain knowledge of and assists in analyzing, programming, testing, and implementing software systems.
Observes to gain knowledge of and assists in installing and maintaining communication equipment and services.
Observes to gain knowledge of and assists in the implementation of protection methods and assignment of users’ security accesses which defends/protects digital information and/or assets.
Observes to gain knowledge of and assists in installing and configuring database software in an enterprise environment.
Observes to gain knowledge of and assists in installing and maintaining information technology hardware and software.
Observes to gain knowledge of and assists in installing and maintaining network equipment and services.
Observes to gain knowledge of and assists in installing and maintaining servers and associated storage devices.
Observes to gain knowledge of and assists in programming the design and functionality of a web site.
Observes to gain knowledge of the coordination of business requirements for projects involving information technology systems maintenance, integration/enhancements, and new application projects.
Tests software ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with design intent; documents testing issues; and observes to gain knowledge of design and documentation of testing methodologies and project coordination.
Receives detailed direction and supervision; work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion with additional instructions and/or guidance provided as needed.
Performs other related work as assigned.

An Associate degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in information technology or computer science.
(A combination of education from an accredited college or university, information technology certification, and/or related experience may substitute for stated qualifications.)
