JEFFERSON CITY – To support the continued growth of Missouri businesses, both large and small, the Office of Administration today announced an important networking event to further strengthen Missouri’s business community. The Capital Connection Business Expo will provide a unique opportunity for small business owners, subcontractors and prime contractors to network with state agencies and learn how to competitively bid on state procurement contracts.
“State government could not run as efficiently or effectively as it does without the essential products and services provided by countless businesses across Missouri who partner with us on state contracts,” said Office of Administration Commissioner Doug Nelson. “The Capital Connection Business Expo will allow individuals with a vested interest in the Missouri small business climate to network with representatives from various state agencies and gain a better understanding of how to participate in state contracts.”
Capital Connection Business Expo attendees will experience the following networking opportunities: “Make State Agency Connections” by talking with state agency representatives and learning about their future procurement needs; “Participate in ‘Prime Time’ Networking” where prime and sub-contractors will meet to discuss future subcontracting and/or joint venture opportunities; and “Get ‘MissouriBUYS’ Savvy” by visiting the computer lab to begin registration with MissouriBUYS, the state’s new e-procurement system (reservation encouraged).
The Capital Connection Business Expo will be held on Wednesday, June 1 in Columbia at the Holiday Inn Executive Center from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Registration is free online at oeo.mo.gov. Space is limited.
