At approximately 9:58 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, the official website for the State of Missouri, Mo.Gov, was defaced by inserting images of graphic war scenes. Due to stringent security protocols in place, immediate action was taken and the defacement was removed. As an additional precaution, Mo.Gov was taken offline at 10 a.m. and brought back online at 10:37 a.m. While the official website was defaced, neither the state nor its data were accessed and the network remained secure.
The cause of the defacement is currently under investigation.
