State employees donated to more than 900 Missouri charities
JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Office of Administration today announced that the 2014 Missouri State Employee Charitable Campaign (MSECC) exceeded donations of $1 million for the 10th consecutive year. In the 29th year of the campaign, state employees donated $1,059,000.00 to 922 Missouri charities.
“Year after year Missouri state employees offer an outpouring of support, compassion and giving to those in need through the annual charitable campaign,” Office of Administration Commissioner Doug Nelson said. “The success is a testament to their generosity, and I am so proud that over the last decade our employees have pledged more than $10 million to organizations across the state of Missouri.”
The MSECC is an annual fundraising effort organized by the Office of Administration that provides state employees with the opportunity to make donations to their favorite charitable organizations through the convenience of payroll deduction or one-time gifts. The State of Missouri has a history of philanthropy and a spirit of service. Since the inception of the annual campaign, state employees have donated more than $26 million to charities statewide. Donations have exceeded $1 million in 13 of the 29 years.
